“This is something that was planned in Tehran. Iran is a terror-sponsoring state,” the Israeli envoy told NDTV.

“We have a very close relationship with India. We have highest confidence and trust in India,” he said.

The envoy stressed that such attacks would not harm the growing India-Israel relations.

“If by targeting an Israeli woman in the heart of Delhi, if somebody thinks he is going to undermine this relationship between the two important powers, he should wake up and smell the coffee,” he said.

A car belonging to the Israeli embassy burst into flames Monday afternoon in a high-security zone in the Indian capital, not far from the residence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The attack injured four people, including the wife of an Israeli diplomat.
