Kerala to give ayurveda highest priority

Thiruvananthapuram : The six-day long Global Ayurveda Festival that concluded here Tuesday saw the Kerala government giving its assurance that it will do everything possible to promote ayurveda on a global platform.

State Industries Minister P.K.Kunhalikutty after hearing the 11-point declaration that was the outcome of this event assured that ayruveda will be given the highest priority.

“The world is coming back to nature and ayurveda provides natural treatment, thus making it the priority in the medical field in the future. The government will do what is needed,” said Kunhalikutty.

A separate ministry for ayurveda at both the state and central level was proposed.

Among the other suggestions was to include ayurveda biology in school curriculum.
