Dhaka : A fire that swept through a slum near Dhaka early Sunday gutted at least 200 shanties, police said.
The fire broke out around 5.30 a.m. at Chandmari slum in Narayanganj. At least 10 people were injured, a police officer said.
The blaze was brought under control after two hours. Eight fire engines were deployed, The Daily Star reported.
Transport movement on the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road was affected.
