New Delhi : The union cabinet Wednesday made hallmarking of gold mandatory for greater quality control in the trade of the precious metal, official sources said.
It also decided to amend the Bureau of Indian Standards Act to make ISI certification mandatory for safety-related articles like helmets.
The cabinet also cleared that self declaration in the area of bio-technology and nano-technology would be allowed for certification.
