Islamabad : Pakistan wants to reach out to its neighbours, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said, while advocating better relations with Afghanistan.
Khar made the observation when Afghanistan’s ambassador Mohammad Umer Daudzai called on her Tuesday to discuss matters of mutual interest, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
The envoy thanked Pakistan for grant of scholarships to Afghan students.
Khar called for “independent, strong bilateral relations” with Kabul as part of Pakistan’s policy to reach out to its neighbours.
She stressed the need to build synergies through people-to-people, civil society and parliamentary contacts.
