“This is not compensation because it is not up to the standard of equity and justice,” said Lateef Mohd Khan, General Secretary, CLMC. “Instead of instating confidence among the Muslim youth, it has deeply hurt their confidence. As the terrorists hurt the sentiments of Muslims by attacking Makkah Masjid, likewise today the A.P. government has insulted the Muslim community in the same way by giving a meager amount to them. In fact, the government has slapped the self respect and Conscience of Muslim community,” he further said.

“Compensation should be based on justice whereas charity is benevolence. Civil liberties want to make it clear that Muslim youth are oppressed and helpless. They do not have much awareness on the recent happenings. Actually it is the responsibility of the Muslim leadership in pressurizing the government to provide the compensation with complete human dignity and justice,” Mr. Khan demanded.

“Providing meager amount is not the solution, the important thing is providing justice to the victims of police torture. The tainted police officers involved in the torture should be punished under the rule of international law i.e. crime against humanity and the compensation should be awarded to the victims from the salaries of those police officers but not from the public wealth,” he said.

He also condemned local Muslim politicians for not raising the issue of justice to Khaki terror victims.
