Musharraf to return between Jan 27 and 30

Islamabad : Former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf, has said he will return home between Jan 27 and 30 from his self-exile in London.

Musharraf, who heads the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), told his supporters in Karachi on the phone that he was not afraid of allegations levelled against him and vowed to face the charges. He said he will arrive in Karachi.

He said during his tenure, the country made progress both economically and on the global stage.

Musharraf said he would contest the upcoming general elections from Chitral in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Dawn reported Sunday.

During the telephonic speech to thousands of his supporters who gathered at a rally in Karachi, the former president blamed the current government for failing to provide relief to the masses.

He thanked former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal and Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad for facilitating the gathering.
