6 students of Rahmani-30 clear Regional Mathematical Olympiad exam

Patna: Adding another feather to the cap of the institution, six students of Rahmani-30 have cleared the examination of Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) qualifying for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) going to be held on 5th Feb. 2012.

The Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) for Bihar region held on December 4, 2011 in Patna. Around 900 students from Bihar appeared in the examination. As the result of the examination came out on 9th Jan. 2012, a total of 30 students were selected for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).



The list of 30 successful candidates includes seven Muslims students. Of them six are students of Rahmani-30. They are namely Rehan Ziya, Mubasshir Imam, Yazid Bashmakh, Amir Raza, Mohammad Moaaz Haider and Sajid Iqbal. They got 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 10th, 16th, 21st position respectively at regional level.

Rahmani-30 is a coaching centre preparing talented community students for IIT-JEE. It is run by Rahmani Foundation of Munger.

The Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education and National Board for Higher Mathematics are jointly organizing National Mathematical Olympiad. The all selected candidates of Bihar region will compete with other students selected from 27 other regions.

The successful candidates of National Mathematical Olympiad will appear in International Mathematical Olympiad which would be held at Argentina in July.
