Chandigarh : Minimum temperatures continued to be low at most places across Punjab and Haryana Wednesday as the cold wave over the region remained unabated.
Amritsar city was freezing at minus 0.4 degree Celsius Wednesday morning — four degrees below normal.
The maximum temperature recorded in the city was 15.6 degrees, three degrees below normal.
Hisar and Narnaul towns in neighbouring Haryana saw minimum temperatures at 1.8 and 1.9 degrees, respectively — four and three degrees below normal.
In Chandigarh, the low and high recorded were five and 17 degrees, respectively.
Met officials here said that the cold wave would persist over the region with icy winds blowing.
