PPP chairman Hilal Ahmad War said 15 party activists were injured.

“Fiften people were injured when police used batons to disperse a peaceful protest by us to commemorate those innocent 52 people killed in firing this day in 1990,” he said.

War also asked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who has been suggesting a truth and reconciliation commission, to start addressing the wounds of the people by probing the Gaw Kadal incident.

“Omar Abdullah should start his proposed commission by giving justice to those killed in the Gaw Kadal incident,” War said.

After the PPP protesters were dispersed, another protest led by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik was held in the area.
