New Delhi: Former union minister C.K. Jaffer Sharief is set to face trial as a court here Tuesday framed charges against him for his alleged involvement in a 1995 corruption case linked to his London visit for treatment.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Judge N.K. Kaushik fixed Aug 21 to begin the trial.
According to prosecution, Sharief, as a union minister, had gone to London for his treatment and had allegedly taken four of his staffers along unauthorisedly, causing a loss of Rs.7 lakh to the exchequer.
