New Delhi : Miffed over Trinamool Congress’s decision to support Pranab Mukherjee in the presidential polls, the BJP Tuesday said it was unable to understand what “compulsion” could have made its leader Mamata Banerjee change her mind.
“Whether it was NCTC or FDI in retail, she was the first to take a pro-people line on all issues. Today we do not understand under what compulsion Mamata Banerjee has taken a line to support the UPA candidate for president’s election,” BJP’s Nirmala Sitharaman said here.
“We don’t understand what made her change the line she was following till this morning,” the Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson said.
“We understand she is a part of the alliance, still, was it all just a posturing when she talked about common man’s suffering for which she would go against the decision of UPA?
“Under what compulsion has she changed her mind to support a government which has persisted with anti-people policies?”
