State Congress chief Botsa Satyanarayana alleged that Jagan, as the parliamentarian from Kadapa, is popularly called, was offering lucrative bribes to woo the legislators.

Talking to reporters in East Godavari district Friday, Satyanarayana said Jagan might also try to influence the judges in his illegal assets case.

Congress MP from Vijayawada L. Rajagopal also said Jagan, like Karnataka’s former minister Gali Janardhana Reddy, was trying to use money power to buy judges and the legislators.

Rajagopal sat on a day-long fast in Visakhapatnam to protest corruption in judiciary.

Leader of Opposition and TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his shock over reports that a CBI judge received Rs.5 crore in bribe to grant bail to Janardhana Reddy.

“It is unfortunate. Every citizen should be concerned over this,” said the former chief minister.

Naidu also alleged that Jagan was trying to woo the legislators with offers of huge money.

Four legislators of the Congress party have crossed over to the YSR Congress Party during last one week and a few others have expressed solidarity with him.

Another TDP leader, Devender Goud said mining mafia was a threat to democracy. He demanded that action be taken against those offering bribes to judges.
