Kolkata : West Bengal Sports Minister Madan Mitra Friday congratulated Viswanathan Anand for winning his fifth World Chess Title and invited him to visit Kolkata.
“Congratulations Anand, we are proud of you. We want you to visit Kolkata,” Mitra told Anand over telephone. The conversation was telecast live in Bengali news channels.
Anand clinched the championship defeating Israeli Boris Gelfand in a rapid-chess tie-breaker in Moscow.
