Kolkata : The CPI-M will campaign across West Bengal in support of its 17-point charter of demands that includes complete rollback of petrol price hike and reduction in prices of essential commodities.
The state committee of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) which met here Wednesday decided to build a movement by rallying the masses with special emphasis on local demands and problems, said a party statement.
It quoted state party secretary Biman Bose as saying that there was a need to utilise the district and other middle-level committees for implementing the 10-point programme finalised at the party’s 23rd state conference in February.
The programme includes building a party high on ideology, making the party and its mass organisations more active, befriending the working class irrespective of political affiliations, and spreading class and mass movements.
