New Delhi: Syed Akbaruddin (@AkbarMEA) official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, responding to a tweet by TwoCircles.net editor Kashif-ul-Huda (@kaaashif) regarding whereabouts of Fasih Mahmood said that they are working to find that information. This is a first official communication by MEA regarding Fasih Mahmood.
Twenty-eight year old Engineer Fasih Mahmood went missing in Saudi Arabia about a month ago. His wife said that he was picked up by Saudi authorities accompanied by Indian officials. Arab News quoted Saudi officials as saying that he was deported to India but Indian Home Ministry has denied that Fasih is in their custody.

After his disappearance, Karnataka Police said they were looking for him for his alleged involvement in the Chinnaswamy Stadium bomb blast case. Two weeks later a Red Cornet Notice was issued through Interpol.
Online campaign started a few days after his disappearance asking Indian authorities to find the missing NRI. Online petition, Facebook, Twitter have been tools for people to show support for this cause.
Twitter campaign reached out to Syed Akbarudin, Official Spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs finally responded to a tweet and said that “It is not only you, We are all working to know that.”
