Chennai : DMK president M.Karunanidhi Thursday reiterated the party’s support to the candidate proposed by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in the coming presidential election.
Speaking to reporters here, he said: “Congress president Sonia Gandhi, through Defence Minister A.K. Antony, had informed me about her choice for the president’s post. I had accepted that proposal. There is no change in our stand.”
He told the reporters not to ask the name suggested by Gandhi.
Anthony met Karunanidhi at his residence here in April.
