Lucknow : Faced with an staggering 2,500 MW power shortfall, the Uttar Pradesh government Sunday ordered all shops and malls across the state to close at 7 p.m.
According to the spokesman of the labour department, all shops and malls, barring medical shops will open between 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The timing of restaurants and food joints in the state have also been changed. They will now remain open between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Officials said the order had been necessitated by the sharp 2,500 MW electricity shortfall in the state.
The order will be in force for 15 days.
