Patna : A BJP minister in Bihar Wednesday dared Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to sack him, saying he will keep supporting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
“I will continue to support Narendra Modi because he is a secular leader who enjoys the overwhelming support of the people of Gujarat and the country,” Animal Husbandry Minister Giriraj Singh said here.
“If Nitish Kumar thinks (my view) is wrong, he can sack me from the cabinet,” he told reporters.
The minister’s comments came a day after Nitish Kumar implicitly targeted Narendra Modi, saying the NDA should announce a secular prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha election.
“There is no communal leader in the BJP,” Singh added.
The minister had recently described slain Ranvir Sena chief Brahmeshwar Singh Mukhiya as a Gandhian. Last year, he observed a day-long fast in support of Modi.
