Maharashtra Govt. invites applications for Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for 2012-13

Mumbai: Applications have been invited by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, for the Maharashtra State Merit-cum–Means Scholarship for the year 2012-2013 for students pursuing Professional and Technical courses. These Scholarships will be given to students from economically weaker sections belonging to Sikh, Muslim, Buddhist, Christian and Parsi minority communities.

Scholarship details:
 The scholarship provides for the course fee (maximum Rs. 20,000/- for not listed institute) and maintenance allowance (Rs. 5,000/- for Day Scholar / Rs. 10,000/- for Hosteller).
 There are 5520 Scholarships available for 2012-2013.

Eligibility:
 Applicants should be resident of Maharashtra State.
 Admission to the course should be through Common Entrance Test or obtained minimum 50% marks at qualifying examination.
 Applicants should not avail any other scholarship/stipend.
 The total annual income of family/guardian should not be more than 2.50 lakh.
 30 % seats are reserved for girls.

How to apply:
Interested candidates should fill the online application form on the official website. On registration to the website, the Online Scholarship Management System will generate a temporary Application ID. Using this ID, applicants can fill the online application form.

Important dates:
The deadline for online application submission is September 30, 2012. The hard copy of the application should be submitted before October 25, 2012.

Modified Time line for Post-Matric Scholarship 2012-13
1. Communication of target to States/UTs by the Ministry 28th February, 2012
2. Publication of advertisement by States/UTs inviting the application from the students In April, 2012
3. Last date for submission of Online applications for scholarship by students. 30st September, 2012
4. Last date for submission of duly signed printed version of online applications by students to State Department through respective institutes. 10th October, 2012
5. Last date for scrutiny of online applications by institutes. 20th October, 2012
6. Last date for scrutiny of online applications by State Department. 31st October, 2012
7. Generation of merit list and submission of fresh proposals by State Department. 1st November to 5th November, 2012.
