Jakarta : An Indonesian Air Force Fokker 27 plane crashed at the air force compound in Jakarta Thursday, killing at least three people on board, including the pilot and co-pilot, officials said.
Air Force spokesman Azman Yunus said the plane with seven people onboard — a pilot, a co-pilot, an instructor, technicians and students — went down at 2.45 p.m., Xinhua reported.
The identity of the third victim was not known.
Military spokesman Iskandar Sitompul said three people were injured when the plane hit at least eight houses.
TV footage showed the houses caught fire after being hit by the plane. A witness said the plane broke into three pieces.
