Western Railway cuts running time of 100 trains

Mumbai : Western Railway (WR) is speeding up its 100 trains and cutting their journey time from July 1, an official said Friday.

The journey time of 100 trains, including 52 originating, terminating or passing through Mumbai, has been shortened by between five to 115 minutes, the official said.

Besides, the timings of 16 other trains have been pushed forward by five minutes or more from their originating stations, while 47 trains will arrive at their destinations five or more minutes earlier.

Among the major trains whose running time has been reduced are the Nizamuddin-Mumbai August Kranti Rajdhani Express by 25 minutes, Amritsar-Mumbai Pashchim Express by 30 minutes, Nizamuddin-Bandra Terminus Maharashtra Sampark Kranti Express and Bikaner-Bandra Terminus Ranakpur Express, both by 75 minutes.

Train journeys covering all major destinations on the entire WR network covering Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, have also been cut short.

WR has advised travellers to check the revised timings before embarking on their journey from July 1.
