18th century Chinese ship found

Manila : An 18th century Chinese merchant vessel has been found in the sea off the Philippine coast, authorities said.

Jimmy Oliver Gingno, an official, told the media Saturday: “Personnel from the National Museum conducted an exploration in the sea in February. They validated the findings on the broken porcelain found inside the vessel as antique.”

The authorities were left disappointed as no artefacts were found in the vessel, reported Xinhua.

Officials believe the artefacts may have been taken away by divers who discovered the the vessel earlier.
