Pakistan to have water management panel

Islamabad : Pakistan plans to set up a “National Water Council” to focus on flood control, irrigation strategies, construction of dams and introduction of water-efficient crops in the country.

The council would be established on recommendations from the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and the US, Britain, Germany, France and Saudi Arabia, the Dawn reported.

The council would suggest planting of water efficient and more productive crops and accordingly allocate water for provinces and municipal agencies.
