New Delhi : Thirty-three young artists were honoured with the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar of the Sangeet Natak Akademi for the year 2010, the Ministry of Culture said Wednesday.
A week-long festival of music, dance and theatre featuring some of the recipients of the award will begin March 7-13 at Kamani, Meghdoot and Rabindra Bhavan theatres in the capital, the ministry said in a statement.
The award was instituted in 2006 by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture. The award is given to performing artists below 40 years of age.
