Bhopal : A police inspector was Sunday shifted out of Bamore police station in Morena district, three days after the brutal murder of sub-divisional police officer Narendra Kumar on Holi.
Inspector Chandrabhan Raghuvanshi was transferred to the police lines.
“Town inspector, Bamore, has been” attached to the police lines, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Chambal Range) D.P. Gupta told IANS.
On March 8, the 2009 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer was allegedly killed by the mining mafia in an area under Raghuvanshi’s jurisdiction.
Narendra Kumar had tried to stop a tractor loaded with illegally mined stones but the vehicle’s driver Manoj Gurjar crushed him to death. The driver was arrested.
After the killing, victim’s father Keshav Dev alleged that the town inspector of Bamore had not provided any force to the officer so he had to rush to the spot alone to check illegal mining in Morena, over 450 km away from state capital Bhopal.
