Abu Dhabi : More than 1,500 trees were planted Tuesday at a port in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The community tree planting initiative launched by the Abu Dhabi Ports Company began at the Mugharrag port.
The campaign aims to raise people’s awareness about the environment and educate students about the importance of trees to the UAE.
The initiative also involves a number of community partners including the Delma Fishermen’s Club, Critical National Infrastructure Authority, the Western Region Municipality, Department of Transport, Abu Dhabi police as well as school students.
