Beijing : Around 4,000 people have been arrested in a nationwide crackdown against economic crimes in China, an official said Tuesday.
Liu Jinguo, vice minister for public security, said officials busted 7,000 economic crime cases over a 12-day period, Xinhua reported.
The cases were related to counterfeit invoices, money, credit cards and other products.
Economic crimes including fraud, bribery and embezzlement carry the death penalty in China.
