Shimla : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal Wednesday described the railway budget for 2012-13 as “disappointing”, saying the state had again been ignored.
“Inspite of the strategic importance of the Mandi-Manali-Leh rail line, the central government has been indifferent to its construction,” Dhumal told reporters here.
The chief minister said it was unfortunate that the state was not given its share in the budget proposals to construct 45 new railway lines of 700 km length in 2012-13.
“The state has once again been given a step-motherly treatment as only a 44-km long rail line has been constructed in the state since independence,” he added.
