Delhi HC blast: No Bihar youth in NIA chargesheet

By TCN News,

New Delhi: The family members of dozen-odd Bihar youths must have got a sigh of relief with the news that their sons were not involved in at least Delhi High Court blast – the main and big charge the Special Cell of Delhi Police had thrown while picking those youths in November and December 2011. With those arrests, the police had claimed to have busted an Indian Mujahideen module suspected behind the September 7, 2011 blast outside the Delhi HC.

About three months after those arrests – mostly from Darbhanga and Madhubani districts of Bihar – the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on 13th March 2012 filed chargesheet in the case and named six accused. None of them are from Bihar – a big jolt to the Special Cell of Delhi Police.

In fact, in mid-February itself, the news had come that NIA questioned the arrested Bihar youths for two days and found them not involved in Delhi HC blast case. The NIA had ruled out their involvement in the case. However, the news was almost neglected by the major media.

The chargesheet, filed during in-camera proceedings, named Amir Abbas Dev, Wasim Akram Malik — they were arrested in September 2011, and are in judicial custody — Malik’s brother and alleged Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Junaid Akram Malik, Shakir Hussain Seikh alias Chota Hafiz and Amir Kamal — they are absconding. The sixth one is a minor.

“Wasim Malik, an avid internet user, is one of those leaderless jehadis who conspired and executed this cowardly and inhuman terrorist action in conspiracy with the terrorists of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and other outfits,” the NIA reportedly said in the chargesheet.

The NIA has booked them under sections dealing with criminal conspiracy, waging war against the state, conspiracy to wage war against the country, murder and attempt to murder among other charges.

Fifteen people were killed and 79 injured in the September 7, 2011 blast outside Gate No.5 of the Delhi High Court.

Arrested Bihar youths in terror cases

Whether those chargesheeted are guilty or not will be decided by court. But what about the Bihar youths who were presented before media and court as culprits of Delhi High Court blast but now they have not been chargesheeted by NIA? At present they are in either police custody or judicial custody because, besides Delhi High Court blast, they have been also made accused in Chinaswamy stadium blast, German Bakery blast and Jama Masjid firing. The family members of those youths vehemently refute all terror charges against them.
