United Nations : The UN Security Council Thursday passed a resolution to renew the mandate of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) for another year.
The 15-member council unanimously approved Resolution 2041, which extended the mandate of UNAMA until March 23, 2013, reports Xinhua.
The UNAMA was set up in 2002 to help Afghanistan achieve peace and development.
