Panaji : Fire services personnel were forced to evacuate the entire forensic science department at Goa’s only Medical College after nearly 5,000 litres of formalin leaked from the storage area.
R.A. Haldankar, a fire service officer, said no one was hurt due to the leakage at the Goa Medical College at Bambolim on the outskirts of Panaji.
“Wearing gas masks we segregated the leaked cans from the good ones and stored them in a safer place,” Haldankar said.
The official said that the reason behind the leak was improper storage of the liquid.
