Hyderabad: In the backdrop of Sangareddy riot and coming Ram Navami celebrations, Hyderabad has been put on high alert. Intelligence agencies have alerted the police of possible communal clashes in the city during Ram Navami rallies.
The communal environment is being heated up in the city from last few months after the Milad-un-Nabi celebrations. The rising religious events by different communities as ostentation of their strength have already given sleepless nights to the police.
After the high profile Milad celebrations in the city, Hindu right wing organizations have been preparing for months to show off their presence. Hindu right wing leader and councilor from Mangalghat, Raja Singh has already announced a massive rally on the eve of Ram Navami. Earlier the rally was planned from Dhoolpet to Gowligoda on nearly 4 km stretch, but after the rising communal temperature that massive rally has been extended from Dhoolpet to Hanuman Teghdi covering nearly 9 km.
The rally is being named as Shobha rally and expected to attract lakhs of people. In fact VHP has openly announced that they are calling its cadres from around the country to join in the rally in the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen’s stronghold. Sure¬nder Jain, All India General Sec¬retary, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, and Sadhvi Prachi Devi will be the chief guests.
One more thing which is raising tempers in Hyderabad is the invitation to the controversial Banayenge Mandir song singer Tarun Sagar who is expected to perform the song in the rally.
Even yesterday Muslim organizations have demonstrated in front of police stations alleging that Bajrang Dal leaders are posting offensive images of the holy cities of Islam on social networking sites. They even threatened the police of violent protest if action is not taken against those miscreants.
Hyderabad city police is not taking any chances; massive and intensive security arrangements have been made. Chief Minister has done a review meeting with DGP, Home Minster, and city commissioner. Home Minster will be directly monitoring the whole situation in the state, particularly in the city.
