Lucknow: The Imam-e-Haram of Kaba, Sheikh Khalid Bin Ali Al Ghamdi on Sunday warned the Muslim youths that any modern education should not divert their belief in God. The Imam was speaking at a function organised at Integral University on Saturday. He also urged the students to be educated for competing with the western countries.
He also said that Quran and hadith (sayings of Prophet Mohammad) could serve as the best guide to any human being.
The Imam exhorted the students to pursue modern education with an intention to serve humanity. He also termed education as the only tool for uplifting any community.
“If your intention is honest, this education will be profitable for you in this world. Islam in no way restricts one from pursuing professional and modern education,” Sheikh Ghamdi said while addressing a huge gathering of students at Integral University. The Imam-e-Haram, as he is called in Arabic, laid the foundation stone of the extension building of Integral Institute of Medical Science and Research on University campus.
Later the Imam also led Zohar (afternoon) prayers attended by Muslims in large numbers. A grand reception was also organized in the honour of Imam.
