New Delhi: It could be historic, not just for Hamdard Study Circle or any Muslim-run coaching institute for civil services examination. As many as 15 candidates from city’s renowned Hamdard Study Circle (HSC) have cleared Civil Services 2011 whose results were announced on 4th May. Among the 15, there are 12 Muslim candidates.
In all, there are 30 Muslim candidates among 910 successful candidates to clear Civil Services this year. While the list of HSC has 12 Muslim candidates, Jamia Millia Islamia issued the list of 7 successful candidates soon after the results – six of them are Muslims. Interestingly five Muslim candidates appear in the list of both HSC and Jamia Millia.
Meanwhile, Zakat Foundation of India has said four out of 30 Muslim candidates were its fellows. ZFI offers logistical support like, boarding, food and coaching expenses of the civil services aspirants which it selects every year after written test and interview.
