Islamabad : A Pakistani police officer was injured in Peshawar city Friday when a bomb hidden beneath a manhole cover exploded as soon as his vehicle by, a media report said.
The massive explosion took place in Chughalpura area, injuring one and damaging many vehicles, DawnNews reported.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Banaras Khan, who was targeted, escaped unhurt but his car was partially damaged.
Sources said the bomb was placed under a manhole cover on the road which detonated as soon as the DSP’s car passed by it.
Panic gripped the area after the deafening blast.
