Nairobi : Kenya’s anti-terrorism police have launched a manhunt for a German national who sneaked into the east African country to plan terror attacks, a top police official said.
Police Commissioner Mathew Iteere has urged Ahmed Khaled Muller to surrender to the nearest police station for questioning over links with Al-Shabaab, Xinhua reported.
Police believe he could be in possession of information on planned Al-Shabaab criminal activities, Iteere said in a statement Saturday.
The man uses aliases Andreas Martin Muller and Abu Nusaibah, police said.
Police said Mueller entered the country either illegally or by disguising himself.
A recent grenade attack in Nairobi left at least two people dead and more than 15 others injured. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack on the God’s House of Miracles International Church April 29.
