On Thursday, Siddiqui was at his native district Banda and took a dig at Lokayukta Justice (retd) N K Mehrotra. “Lokayukta Mahaan hai aur kaabil hai. I am hearing stories of his greatness for past three decades. He did not find anything wrong with me during four and a half years of our rule,” he said. Siddiqui also claimed that Lokayukta is attempting things beyond his jurisdiction. “If CM rejects any enquiry report by Lokayukta, he does not have the power to resend it,” he
said. Former CM Mayawati has rejected the Lokayukta report against Siddiqui which has been resent by Lokayukta to CM Akhilesh Yadav.

Regarding charges against his son Afzal, he stated that his soon does not come under Public Servant category and is capable of giving his own reply. Over charges of amassing wealth by Samajwadi Party (SP) government, he remarked: “Mulayam was also an ordinary teacher and
from where did his family members got all the assets. Mulayam’s case of disproportionate assets is pending with Supreme Court. He should first set his house in order then blame others.”

Responding to a query over Mayawati’s whopping expenditure on her bungalow, he remarked: “It is not her bungalow but owned by Estate Department of U P. In a bid to hide its shortcomings, SP government is raising such issues. People will give a befitting reply at an
appropriate time.”
