New Delhi : The Delhi government has decided to set up a committee for the welfare of Delhi Transport Corp (DTC) workers.
The decision was taken Friday at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sheila Diskhit, who stressed workers’ participation in DTC management.
Headed by the principal secretary of the finance department, the committee will comprise the Commissioner of the Transport Department, the DTC chairman and managing director, the Labour Commissioner and representatives of employees.
“The welfare of the employees must be given priority as this is bound to ensure better functioning and better results,” said a statement from the chief minister’s office.
