Mumbai : The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) will Friday hold an emergency meeting to take a decision on banning actor Shah Rukh Khan’s entry into Wankhede Stadium for his alleged misbehaviour with security staff and officials two nights ago.
Shah Rukh, the co-owner of Indian Premier league (IPl) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), could face a lifetime ban from entering the Wankhede stadium after the fracas Wednesday night.
While MCA officials maintained that Shah Rukh was drunk and abusive Wednesday night, the actor has denied the allegation and said that his children and others were the ones who were manhandled and deserved an apology.
The MCA meeting is being chaired by union minister and organisation president Vilasrao Deshmukh, who had called for the emergency meeting.
On Thursday, Deshmukh had termed the event as grave and said that a decision would be taken on the ban after going through the entire sequence of events.
“This is a grave matter. I have called for an urgent committee meeting and we shall discuss the matter following which we will decide future course of action,” Deshmukh had told IANS.
All committee members, including treasurer Ravi Sawant, who first objected to the actor’s behaviour, will be present at the meeting. IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla would also be present.
MCA had filed a police complaint against Shah Rukh at the Marine Drive police station here.
