AIMES leaders meet PM over minority issues

New Delhi: A high-level delegation of All India Muslim Educational Society (AIMES) on Friday (18th May) met Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh here in New Delhi. AIMES leaders demanded setting up of a high-powered committee to review and monitor government welfare schemes for minorities.

To monitor and review minority welfare schemes, they demanded the PM to constitute a high-powered review committee at national, state and district level.

The delegation also demanded legislation to ensure provisions in the Article 29 and 30 and 15(5) of the Constitution of India. Another major demand they put before the PM was about establishment of Khwaja Garib Nawaz University in Ajmer.

The team also gave him a copy of the resolution passed at its national education conference held earlier this month in Jaipur.

Members of the delegation included patron of AIMES, Justice (Retd) Fatima Beevi of Supreme Court, national vice president of AIMES, Ibrahim Qureshi, Rajasthan president of AIMES, Dr Azam Beg, Uttar Pradesh president of AIMES, Dr Idrees Qureshi and Delhi president of AIMES, Khwaja Khalilullah besides others.
