Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav took cognisance of the charge sheet against the 11 accused and listed the matter for June 6 and told police to present six of the suspects on that day.

The special cell of Delhi Police filed the charge sheet saying the accused were part of a module of the banned outfit trying to revive it after the reverses it suffered due to the 2008 Batala House shootout in south Delhi.

“Their aim was to carry out bomb blasts and shootouts in India to avenge the ‘atrocities’ being meted out to the Muslim community and spread the message of Jihad,” said the charge sheet.

The accused also aspired for implementing Islamic laws in India and to weaken the Indian economy by circulation of fake currency and discouraging foreign investment through violence, police said.

The court asked police to present before it Mohd. Kafil, Mohd. Quateel Siddiqui, Gauhar Aziz, Gayur Ahmed, Mohd. Aftab Alam and Tariq Anjum Ahsan.

The other five suspects are Mohd. Irshad Khan, Asadullah Rehman, Mohd. Adil, Bashir Hasan and Abdul Rehman.

There are 21 other accused against whom the Special Cell has obtained non-bailable warrants.
