New Delhi : The Delhi Police told a court here Tuesday that they have sought an audit of the accounts of Anna Hazare-led voluntary organisation India Against Corruption (IAC).
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Bansal was told this by police while submitting a status report on a complaint of alleged misappropriation of funds against former police official and Team Anna member Kiran Bedi.
Police said that they wrote to the Income Tax authorities and the Enforcement Directorate to audit the accounts of IAC.
A probe was also sought into the accounts of Public Cause Research Foundation, an organisation that works for transparent governance, to which Bedi and other members of Team Anna allegedly diverted donations received by IAC.
Police said it had also sought details from the human resource development ministry on complaints against Navjyoti Community College in north Delhi’s Jahangirpuri which is a part of NGO Navjyoti India Foundation run by Bedi.
According to complainant advocate Devinder Singh Chauhan, Bedi cheated various paramilitary forces and state police organisations on the pretext of providing free computer training to troopers’ kin under the banner of her NGO.
