Army man arrested in Gurgaon for woman’s murder

Gurgaon : A soldier posted at army headquarters in Delhi was Friday arrested for murdering a pregnant woman here, police said.

The woman, who has been identified as Rekha, was found dead in a deserted area of Ghata village May 19. Unmarried Rekha was two months pregnant. She had been stabbed several times.

Police have arrested Ramji Yadav for her murder. Yadav hails from Uttar Pradesh and is posted at the Army Headquarters at Delhi. He was living in a rented room in Palam Vihar.

The accused was a driver of a high-ranked army officer.

According to police, Rekha was working with the Honda company at IMT Manesar and was living alone in a rented room in Sukhrali near Sector 18.

Rekha’s father Karan Singh who lives in Sohna, 25 km from here had said that Yadav had visited his house with Rekha a few months ago.

Sector 55-56 police station chief Pradeep Dangi told IANS, “We have arrested Ramji. We are grilling him. There may be some more arrests after interrogation.”

The relationship between the accused and the victim is yet to be established, police said.
