Bhave brings his expertise of building national institutions to the IIHS, which is amongst prospective national universities for research and innovation expected to help transform the country’s higher education, innovation and research landscape over the next few decades, a statement from the institute said.

Bhave was the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), India’s capital markets regulator from 2008 to 2011. He was also the founding chairman and managing director of the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL).
