Man held at Delhi airport for travelling on fake passport

New Delhi : A man hailing from Tamil Nadu, who had travelled to Paris in 2009 on a fake French passport, was arrested on his arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here Tuesday morning, police said.

“Naina Mohamed Mohamed Anwar Oli was arrested when he arrived by an Air France flight on an emergencry certificate issued in Paris March 13 this year as deportee,” Deputy Commissioner of Police R.A. Sanjeev told IANS.

He told police that he travelled to Paris on a fake passport arranged by an agent for Rs.4 lakh.

Sanjeev said that he was arrested by French police for possessing a forged French passport and had to serve a jail term of about 23 months there.
