New Delhi: Poor boy of Lilong district in Manipur, Mohammad Ismat has topped the CBSE Class 12 exam in the country. Ismat, 20, has scored 99% in the science stream.
According to the results announced on Monday, Ismat has got full marks in maths, chemistry, painting and his additional subject, home science, 98% in English and 97% in physics. In Class 10, Ismat had ranked second in Manipur with 92.4%.
According to reports, Ismat comes from a very poor family. Hi entire family of eight persons lives on Rs 30,000 a year. His father Maulana Bashir Rahman, teacher in a private primary school, earns just Rs 2000 a month. Ismat is youngest among seven siblings. His mother died in childhood. Ismat wants to become an IAS.
