AMU faculty develops a stream cipher

Aligarh: Dr. Mohammad Ubaidullah Bokhari, Chairman Department of Computer Science and Principal Investigator (PI) of ERP Mission Project, has developed a stream cipher named as “Bokhari Stream Cipher.”

Two of his research scholars Faheem Syeed Masoodi and Shadab Alam are working in the field of cryptography and network security for three years now and have successfully published their works in reputed journals and conferences around the world.

This cipher has been developed after a rigorous research work of about 3 years and was successfully presented in second World Congress on Information and Communication Technologies (WICT 2012), Trivandrum sponsored by IEEE and MIR Labs, USA. The Conference was attended by delegates from around 35 different countries.

Work on developing a standard Stream Cipher is being carried out all over the world for developing a secure and standard stream cipher. The developed design “Bokhari Stream Cipher” is very efficient and secure. This protocol is supposed to secure the information exchange over internet, banking transactions and other communications.
