Gamblers sever Bangladeshi ex-cop’s tendons

Dhaka : A group of youths in Bangladesh who were asked by a retired police constable to stop gambling attacked the man and cut the tendons in his hands and legs, police said Friday.

The incident took place in Rajapur area of Jhalakhati, the Daily Star reported.

The 45-year-old victim Humayun Kabir is a retired police constable, police said.

When Kabir prevented some youths from gambling in his village, two youths — 22-year-old Naim and 24-year-old Litu — attacked him Friday morning with sharp weapons, police said.

Kabir was admitted to hospital.
