Alumni meet of Hamdard Public school

Alumni of Delhi based Hamdard Public School from across the globe came back to their Alma Mater on November 10, 2012 in large numbers.

“Ethnic Amigo ‘12” organised by Hamdard Alumni Association (HAA) was felicitated by chief guest Syed Hamid, Retired IAS, former Vice Chancellor of AMU, ex member of planning commission of India, presently chancellor of Hamdard university and secretary Hamdard Education Society.



Dr Mohd Rehan Raza being awarded The Hakeem Abdul Hameed Award of Excellence by Jb.Syed Hamid, Secretary Hamdard Education Society.

Other distinguished guests included Captain Jay Narayan Prasad Nishad (former union minister and member of Parliament) Prof. Qayyoom Ansari (Jamia Milia Islamia), Prof. Aftab Zaidi (Director Hamdard study circle) , Mr. Samar Hamid ( Director Education, Hamdard Education society) and Ms Zakiya Siddiqui (Principal , Hamdard Public School).

In her welcoming speech Principal School outlined the objectives of mentoring the association by pointing out that the dream of Hakim Abdul Hameed and Syd Hamid is yet to be fulfilled. We must come together to work to materialize their dream of healthy and educated India where nobody faces discrimination on account of religion, caste, color or sex, she added.

Evening witnessed a cultural program, where musical band “Me and My Sur” amazed the gathering with their performance and Rajasthani folk dancers forced the audience to dance on their tunes.

To make alumni relive the golden days of school Jazbat Syed Reyaz and Ruhi Naz hosted a number of interactive games.

Hamdard Alumni Association also honoured Dr. Rehan Raza, ex student of HPS ,with Hakeem Abdul Hameed Award of Excellence for his exemplary performance in UPSC, Civil Services Examination.

Samar Hamid , mentor of HAA, released a book “No Exit” written by Areeba Nasir, alumni of Hamdard Public School.
In his speech Samar Hamid emphasized that this association should work more as a NGO to help the needy and underprivileged.

Students of Hamdard have always believed in serving the society, carrying forward this characteristic, Hamdard Alumni Association announced scholarships for current students with outstanding scores. The Association pledged to alter the lives of human beings. Regular counseling of the students and financial support to Support staffs and children of Gulshan-e-Hamdard are included in the list of initiatives.

The rendezvous ended with dinner, interaction between ex-students and teachers and a promise to come together to help each other and to work for the underprivileged of the society.
